Cat Business as Usual

The reason why I haven’t written anything lately is simple: Jerry is rumbling around and his outdoor family is doing the same: Sleeping, running around and eating.

Summer has begun and the warm weather causes my cat Jerry to stay outside most of the day. She only comes inside to eat and to sleep. I am the servant and she is the boss. 🙂

Jerry has discovered my bed and when she sleeps, she spreads out. When I want to go to sleep at night, little girl is taking all the space and when I push her over a bit, she starts complaining and yelling at me. In other words: I have become a guest in my own bed !

It has become complicated with the outdoor family and I am getting fed up feeding them. Jerry’s aunt Cat Fuzzy is pregnant again. Only in January she gave birth to five kittens. A few weeks ago, she kicked her four surviving kittens out and they ended up in our garden. Fuzzy lives in a different garden next door. So, we are having four kittens in the garden of whom one lost his tail. Fur and flesh were gone one day and most of the tail is sticking out but has dried off already. It looks pitiful but let me tell you: This little thing has recovered on it’s own and already has a feral cat attitude.

A few days ago, two cat loving women stood in front of my door and said that they saw me feeding the family downstairs. If I don’t want to take the tail – less kitten to the vet and take care for more cats ? No, I don’t !

These two women run a private shelter and I told them that if they want the cats, be my guest ! Well, they didn’t want them, as the shelter is fully booked. 🙂

At the moment I am a kind of fed up with the street cat world. Sooner or later I will throw them all out and stop feeding them. Fuzzy is due to have another litter and two other grown up cats of the same family will follow suit. Our garden will be flooded with cats and I have got enough. I keep Jerry and for me that’s it. I have had it ! 🙂
